TOKYO -- Canadas Milos Raonic advanced to the semifinals of the Japan Open with his 40th victory of the season Friday. Raonic, seeded third, cruised past Slovakias Lukas Lacko 6-3, 6-3 in just over an hour. The 22-year-old from Thornhill, Ont., once again used a dominant serve to beat his opponent, with 11 aces to only two for Lacko. Raonic said taking the early lead was key following an overnight change in the weather. "I felt I started really well, right from the beginning which allowed me to get into the match and continue from there," said Raonic. The quarter-final was played under the closed roof of the Ariake Coliseum after to a cold front moved in bringing drizzle and chilly temperatures. "I felt like I dealt with the conditions well today," said Raonic. "Confidence is a big part of it and helps you in those adjustments to the difference in conditions. "Despite the weather changes from hot and humid to cold and not so humid the court has remained relatively the same -- fast," he added. "But I just felt that I was aggressive through the match and that paid early dividends." Raonic will next face Croatian Ivan Dodig, who defeated Finlands Jarkko Nieminen 6-2, 7-6 (3). Dodig has won two of the pairs three matches, including a second-round victory over Raonic last June on grass at Eastbourne and a Barcelona win in 2011. A win over Dodig would mark a return for Raonic to the Tokyo final where he lost a year ago to Kei Nishikori. "It will be another tough match against Ivan," said Raonic. "Im focused on what I need to do for the next one." Raonic, ranked 11th in the world, is coming off a win at the Thailand Open on Sunday and improved his season record to 40-17. Hes trying to earn one of the last spots in the World Tour Finals in London next month. Raonic never faced a break point against the 81st-ranked Lacko. The loss to Raonic was Lackos 14th straight against a top-20 opponent. Raonic, who stands 5-0 in quarter-finals this year, has not lost a set this week. He took early control against Lacko with two breaks to earn the first set in 25 minutes. Raonic went up a quick break in the second for a 2-0 advantage, and later closed his match with a service winner. Meanwhile, top-seeded Juan Martin del Potro overcame Alexandr Dolgopolov of Ukraine 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 to reach the semifinals. Del Potro broke Dolgopolov twice in the second set and again to go up 3-1 in the third set at Ariake Colosseum. He closed out the match with another break when Dolgopolovs return was long. The Argentine will face sixth-seeded Nicolas Almagro of Spain in the semis on Saturday. Almagro beat local favourite and defending champion Kei Nishikori 7-6 (2), 5-7, 6-3. Cheap Tony Perez Jersey . Al Harrington, another former Knicks forward, scored 22 of his 24 points after halftime for the Nuggets, allowing them to withstand Anthonys attempt to rally the Knicks after his poor shooting had them behind until the final minutes of regulation. Anthony finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds, missing 20 of 30 shots in the Knicks sixth straight loss. Bulldogs coach Mark Richt confirmed the severity of their injuries at a Sunday afternoon teleconference. "Its sad for our players," Richt said. "You see them work so hard to get in position to play for Georgia, realize their dreams to play in big games like that, try to win championships and all that. (You see) how much work they put in and how hard they play for you and work and practice for you in the off-season and all that, and one play like that and its taken away from them. Its heartbreaking." Richt also announced wide receiver Michael Bennett will undergo further evaluation to determine how much time he will miss after injuring his right knee Saturday at Tennessee. Richt said Bennett definitely wouldnt play when the seventh-ranked Bulldogs (4-1, 3-0 SEC) host No. 25 Missouri (5-0, 1-0 SEC). Punter Collin Barbers status is day to day after sustaining a concussion in the Tennessee game. This represents the latest round of adversity for a Georgia team that has kept its national title hopes alive despite enduring all kinds of health problems. Wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell tore the ACL in his right knee during a season-opening loss to Clemson. Running back Todd Gurley, who had formed a dynamic duo in the backfield with Marshall, sat out the Tennessee game with a sprained left ankle. Georgia also played the Tennessee game without injured safeties Tray Matthews and Connor Norman. Now the Bulldogs have been hit with even more injuries. "I dont know what hurts more -- the pain of the injury or the pain of knowing youre not going to be able to play anymore for a while," Richt said. "I just feel bad for them." Marshall and Scott-Wesley both tweeted after their injuries. "Thanks everyone for all the prayer and support," Marshall said. "I will be fine. Minor setback for a major comeback!" "Ill be back better than ever!" Scott-Wesley vowed. Richt said after the game that Gurley had a 50-50 chance of playing against Missouri, and he indicated Sunday that the sophomores status remained day to day.dddddddddddd Richt also didnt know if Matthews will return from his hamstring injury in time for the Missouri game. Richt said Norman has a "realistic shot" of playing against Missouri. Marshall had rushed for 246 yards and one touchdown on 56 attempts this season. Scott-Wesley had 16 catches for 311 yards and two touchdowns, including an 85-yard touchdown that clinched a victory over South Carolina. The losses could hinder an offence that has scored at least 34 points in each of its first five games. It certainly puts to rest the notion that Georgia would have an easier road now that it had made it through a brutal September schedule with its championship hopes intact. The Tennessee game was supposed to begin the easier part of Georgias schedule. But the Bulldogs instead have plenty of questions as they get ready for an intriguing matchup with Missouri, which is coming off an impressive 51-28 victory at Vanderbilt. "We have a lot of work to do before we play Missouri because thats another team that will sneak up on you in a heartbeat," Georgia outside linebacker Jordan Jenkins said. Gurley and Marshall had formed one of the nations top running back tandems before they were hurt. Gurley has 71 carries for 450 yards and four touchdowns this season. Last season, the duo combined to rush for 2,144 yards and 25 touchdowns. Freshman J.J. Green stepped up in their absence at Tennessee and ran for 129 yards on 17 carries. Green had entered the game with only five career rushing attempts. "When we signed him, we really didnt know what he was going to play," Richt said after the Tennessee game. "We thought he could play corner, we thought he could play receiver. This spring we knew we had some issues at the tailback position so we just asked him what do you think about playing some tailback and he said, OK, Coach, Ill play. Turns out hes a tough nut." Another freshman, Brendan Douglas, scored a touchdown against the Volunteers. The Bulldogs may need both newcomers to deliver a repeat performance against Missouri. ' ' '
